Two very important protocols are being offered at our ACTU. ACTG 384-available for enrollment now-is for persons who have never received treatment. The objective is to find the best combination of drugs to start with for therapy of HIV/AIDS. ACTG 349-available soon-will determine if a short course (12 weeks) of corticosteroid therapy reduces the amount of HIV in the body and improves immunity to HIV in patients on stable treatment for HIV/AIDS.
