Respiratory virus infections are finally declining in our area. There are still new cases of RSV, but influenza A and B have left us. Preliminary indications are that this year’s flu vaccine conferred reasonable protection against the circulating strains. The season for central nervous system viral infections is just around the corner. If the weather stays cool, mosquito-borne viruses most likely will not be a problem until July or later.
